Shaker Wood

I do love the repetitions in nature and I was struck by this woodpile in the Canterbury Shaker village in New Hampshire.

Angus almost had to drag me out of the shaker shop as I was ready to buy the world and ship it back to the UK...luckily I did escape with my own shaker wooden box made from birds eye maple.

Shimla in the mist

Shimla - home of international Nancycam. Nell and I travelled around India and tried to escape the wedding photographers but were accosted at Shimla by a TV crew who wanted to make us stars.

Getting back to the plot, Shimla was an amazing hill station heading towards the Himalayas. We stayed in an old lodge where Jewel in the Crown was filmed - with no heating!

Birches by Neil Welliver

I've had this picture on my wall since the tender age of thirteen. On a trip to New York I fell in love with the combination of snow and birch trees - it changed my whole perspective on my ideal landscape.

Sadly, Neil Welliver died this year of pneumonia.

Tibetan Prayer Wheels - Slow Mo

I have absolutely no idea why bits are blurry and bits aren't, but it makes a great image. It was a nasty day of rain, rain and more rain but it was Tibetan New Year so we headed to a bar and drank with Tibetan monks. Busy chatting on their mobile phones. Odd.

Narrow Gauge Trains, India

Actually, I think British Rail could learn a lot from this rail journey. Watching the sunrise while slowing chugging up the mountains in Northern India was incredible.
